The Easy Hack That'll Soften That Stick Of Butter In A Fraction Of The Time
By Crystal Antonace
Refrigerated butter can take up to 30 to 60 minutes to come to room temperature, but with a few strategic cuts, you can have soft butter ready for your baking needs within minutes.
After removing the amount of butter you need from cold storage, slice it into even portions with a knife. The butter will soften within 10 minutes of extra air hitting the slices.
If you're pressed for time, use a box grater to shred the required amount of butter finely. With this method, the butter should be softened effectively in just five minutes.
Slicing or grating the butter beforehand will be your first step toward evenly distributing it in your recipe, and the smaller portions of butter will take far less time to soften.
