The Clever Way Ree Drummond Customizes Her Pantry Shelves
By Heidi Chaya
Social media has exploded with hacks for home chefs in need, but in a time where we have more new-age ingredients to work with, we may need fewer tips about food and more about the space in which we store it. Fortunately, celebrity chefs like Ree Drummond have come to the rescue with ways to take your pantry from paltry to practical.
In a blog post, Ree Drummond showcases her home pantry with a moving ladder, a low-profile prep area, and enough space to store extra food items and appliances. If you feel like a pantry like this is out of reach, consider professional organizer Nicole Abramovici’s note, "Anything within walls is immediately more organized."
Dedicating a walled-off area for food and ingredients is great for giving all your items one accessible and consolidated space for efficiency while keeping your food dry, out of direct sunlight, and safe from potential pests. If you don't have a walk-in pantry, try converting a mudroom or coat closet, but remember it requires upkeep to remain functional.
