The City That Consumes The Most Hot Dogs
By Cynthia Anaya
America loves a good hotdog, and they’re a staple of family cookouts, bonfires, and baseball games. Based on the total amount of hotdogs consumed in 2021, you'll never guess which city loves these fast and easy-to-cook favorites more than any other in America.
New York City and Dallas ranked second and third, respectively, but Los Angeles takes first place, with its residents consuming 30 million pounds of hotdogs in 2021. NBC and Bar-S awarded Los Angeles with this "wiener winner" status in 2019 and 2017 as well.
Sportscasting suggests that Los Angeles is a three-time "wienie winner" due to California’s five Major League Baseball teams. Additionally, L.A. is famous for its delicious and unique street dogs — including ones wrapped in bacon.
