The Best Way To Clean That Nasty Grease Off Of Your Kitchen Cabinets
By Betsy Parks
Every time you cook, grease from the stove and oven mixes with steam and becomes airborne. Over time, your kitchen cabinets collect a dull sheen from the dirt and oil.
It's easy to wipe away all of that residue that's built up on your cabinets. All you need is some dish soap to cut through the grease, water, baking soda, a sponge, and a towel.
Get your sponge soapy with hot water and simply scrub the cabinet surfaces. Fill a bowl or a bucket with soapy water to refresh the sponge while you work on larger areas.
After you've scrubbed the gunk to lift it off the surface of the cabinet, wipe away the residue with a kitchen towel or paper towel. For tougher grime, you can also use baking soda.
Make a solution of one part baking soda and two parts warm water. It's okay if the baking soda doesn't completely dissolve — the extra grit helps to scrub off the residue.
Scrub your cabinets with the baking soda on your sponge, then wipe the surfaces with a wet towel to remove any residue. If you leave any behind, it'll dry and form white streaks.
