The Best Hack For The Most Flavor When Seasoning Chicken Thighs
By Brandon Bombay
For super flavorful chicken thighs, apply your seasoning generously, even underneath the skin. If you can’t lift the chicken skin by hand, use a sharp knife to loosen it carefully.
Buy bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs for the tastiest results. Cook them low and slow by placing them skin-side-down in a pan for at least 15 minutes before flipping them.
Contrary to their chicken breast/white meat counterparts, chicken thighs (and the connective tissue) release more flavor the longer they are cooked, creating a flavorful gelatin.
While chicken thighs are ready once their internal temperature hits 175 degrees F, let them cook until they reach 195 degrees to ensure they release the most flavor possible.
