If you're a french fry fanatic, you've probably tried different chains, such as Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, which are closer to shoestring potatoes than anything else. They’re super thin and lack that soft, fluffy center, with one Tripadvisor reviewer calling them “quite possibly the smallest fries in the history of the world.”

Arby’s crinkle-cut fries offer something unique while still resembling standard french fries, with deep ridges perfect for scooping up extra sauce. However, these fries haven’t received much love on Reddit, with one user saying, "After eating about half the fries, I would've bet my life that they went to the grocery store and bought frozen fries."

Skipping the blanching step could explain the cardboard-like texture you often get from In-N-Out fries, and these fries always seem to need some flavoring. If you want something different, order them animal-style, where they'll be topped with grilled onions, melted cheese, and something resembling Thousand Island dressing.

Taco Bell's Nacho Fries stand out because they're slightly thicker, coated with tasty Mexican seasoning, and served with a cheese dipping sauce. Their size feels perfect, but where Taco Bell falls short is its reliability, as sometimes the fries are soggy and under-seasoned, and they aren’t a permanent fixture on the menu.

Chick-fil-A’s waffle fries were voted the No. 1 fast-food item in America by The Ringer, which makes sense, given their flavor and addictive quality. However, there’s a lot less quantity-wise in one serving than at other chains, lowering their shareability, so if your friends are hungry, watch those waffles.
