The Amount Of Money Aldi Bags Cost
By Jennifer Amos
While other retailers reportedly spend about $4 billion on single-use plastic shopping bags each year, Aldi saves that money by not bagging customers' groceries and not providing plastic bags. However, Aldi still offers convenient reusable bag options shoppers can buy.
Per Aldi, bringing a bag from home is not required to shop at the store, but the chain still encourages its customers to bring their own bags to help reduce single-use plastic waste in the environment. The money saved by not supplying shoppers with free plastic bags enables Aldi to sell its products at lower-than-normal prices, thereby helping shoppers save money as well.
Aldi offers its customers several reusable bag options, such as plastic, insulated, brown paper, and a tote made with recycled materials. Although it was reported that you could get a paper bag for 7 cents, a plastic bag for 10 cents, and an eco-friendly reusable bag for $1.99 in 2020, the prices may vary between stores.
