The Aldi Chicken That Tastes Exactly Like Chick-Fil-A, According To Shoppers
By Brianna Corley
Aldi is pretty well known among its customers for its tendency to carry dupes of fast food favorites, and fans of the grocer are obsessed with their Kirkwood chicken. Even though it's fried with vegetable oil, customers claim this bag of Aldi's chicken tastes identical to the fillets powering Chick-fil-A's famous sandwich.
This Kirkwood frozen breaded chicken breast fillet, more commonly referred to as “Aldi's red bag chicken” by fans, has a whole online movement dedicated to advocating for their Chick-fil-a taste. Aldi has since posted instructions on how to duplicate Chick-fil-A's chicken sandwich and how to dupe their famous Chick-fil-A sauce as well.
Aldi suggests air-frying your Kirkwood fillets then preparing your sandwich with the grocer's pickles and brioche buns, and for the sauce, you should combine Aldi’s honey mustard, barbecue sauce, and mayo with lemon to achieve a spread similar to the fast food chain's proprietary condiment. Fans of the recipe have stated that the chicken sandwich is “worth the hype” and “juicer than Chick-fil-A.”
