The Absolute Best Way To Reheat Your Leftover Ribs
By Julia Mullaney
Overheating ribs can cause the meat to become rubbery or dry. The best way to reheat ribs is to heat them in the oven at a low temperature to preserve their flavor and texture.
If they didn't previously sit out for more than two hours, take the ribs out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
Add extra barbecue sauce to the ribs before heating them to add more flavor and act as an extra layer of protection, retaining the meat's moisture.
Heat them in the oven at 250 degrees F — only cook them until they're hot, but not a minute longer. Be sure to cover them, as even the low heat could be enough to dry them out.
An internal temperature of around 130 degrees should be hot enough that they feel like they were just cooked but not so hot that the tenderness of the meat gets altered.
Beef and pork ribs have a refrigeration life of three to five days. Check their smell, texture, and color to ensure they're still good if they've been in the fridge for a while.
