Fresh garlic is the best aromatic choice for cooking, but some chefs don't know how to peel it efficiently. Simply use warm water to peel your cloves easily in just a few minutes.
You'll first need a bowl of any size, so long as it can hold a few garlic cloves. Peel the outer layers off of a whole head of garlic, then place your cloves in your bowl.
Cover the cloves with warm water and let them sit for about two minutes. When the time is up, you should be able to peel the skin off those cloves of garlic effortlessly.
Unlike blanching, this method preserves the garlic's flavor and loosens the outer layer of skin. It also works for peeling shallots as well, so keep this trick in your back pocket.
