Rachael Ray's Secret To Cooking Delectable Fresh Sausages
By Crystal Antonace
Apart from offering solutions to everyday cooking debacles, Rachael Ray divulges cooking tips on her website to contribute something extra to your next homemade meal. If your kitchen skills have yet to lead you to make homemade sausage, this trusted chef can help you procure the most tender links with just one pan.
In an episode of "The Rachael Ray Show," Ray uncovers her trick to perfectly crisp sausage by piercing links with a fork and placing them in a pan with one-eighth of an inch of water. Once the water has evaporated, she advises drizzling the sausages with olive oil and letting them cook through to eventually crisp.
There has been some controversy over whether or not piercing sausage is the best way to cook it, and even Ray posted an altered recipe variation on her website back in 2012 that kept the link intact. Whether you're making sausage, grilled and braised brats, or savory french toast with sausage, use whichever cooking method works best for you.
