Princess Diana's Favorite Meal Was Oddly Normal
By Noor Anand Chawla
Princess Diana was very health conscious and, according to the royal chef who cooked for her for years, her favorite meal was an oddly normal offering: stuffed bell peppers.
While much has been written about her last meal before her tragic, untimely death in 1997, we now also know what she liked to eat multiple times a week in her own home.
This fact was shared with the world by Darren McGrady, who was Lady Di's chef for the last four years of her life — and who had also cooked for Queen Elizabeth II for 11 years.
Princess Diana frequently ate stuffed bell peppers and eggplants. McGrady stuffed red bell peppers with mushroom, zucchini, rice, bacon, chicken bouillon, and parmesan cheese.
McGrady recalls that by the time he took over Lady Di's royal kitchen, she had already recovered from her eating disorders and was keen on healthy eating and exercising.
Apart from the stuffed bell papers, which were a menu staple for her, she also enjoyed the typically English dessert known as bread and butter pudding.
