Oil Is The Secret To Effortlessly Peeling Hard Boiled Eggs
By Stacie Adams
Peeling a hard-boiled egg is often easier said than done, but adding oil to the water before boiling the eggs might make the peeling process easier.
This hack works because eggshells are permeable, meaning that the oil in the boiling water can make its way into the shell while the egg cooks.
When the time comes for you to peel the egg, the oil will help the shell break cleanly from the interior, thereby creating a far more manageable process.
As for the type of oil to use in the water, you're free to use a tablespoon of whatever you have hanging around in your pantry.
