Music Festival Food Prices Are Seriously Getting Out Of Hand
By Cristine Struble
Music festivals can be expensive, but the high food and beverage prices are often even more shocking than ticket prices.
During the first weekend of Coachella 2023, TikTok user Jackie Tanti shared that two coffees and two burritos cost $64, while other attendees paid $12 for cold cereal and milk.
Coachella 2023 had many food options, but the dishes were far from gourmet. From $17 chicken tenders to a $16 grilled cheese, the food had a basic taste for bougie prices.
However, while $20 beer or $15 lattes at festivals might cause a social media buzz, music festival food is based on supply and demand, and attendees aren’t forced to purchase food.
Additionally, many festivals allow you to bring a refillable water bottle. Ultimately, if festival attendees talk more about the food than the music, it likely speaks to a bigger problem.
