Is Zeke's From Kitchen Nightmares Still Open Today?
By Camryn Teder
Zeke's, a popular Creole seafood restaurant in New Orleans, was shown on Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares" in 2011. Unfortunately, its quality diminished after its founder died.
The owners began exclusively buying frozen seafood instead of fresh and raised the prices, so customers were not happy with the direction that the restaurant was headed.
Ramsay added fresh dishes to the menu and revamped the dining area. The changes worked and pleased customers, but sadly, over a decade later, Zeke's is no longer open.
Customers were impressed with Ramsay's efforts, especially when they visited the establishment afterward. One customer even praised the owner's new attitude and hospitality.
Despite the positive changes, Zeke's closed in October 2012 after the owners decided to sell the restaurant. The new owners opened Luke & Porter's in its place a year later.
The employees stated throughout the episode that Zeke's owners only seemed interested in making a profit, so we can speculate that they closed due to a lack of enthusiasm.
