Is The Freezer A Good Place To Store Canned Beans?
By Stacie Adams
Storing canned beans is as easy as simply finding an area of your kitchen protected from heat and moisture. Here, your beans will be good for up to five years.
Despite this storage simplicity, one place that must be avoided when seeking the perfect storage area for canned items is your freezer.
Placing unopened beans in the freezer can easily compromise the can's stability because the contents will naturally get bigger as they freeze and put pressure on the can.
The can will swell and potentially rupture, meaning air will get inside. A damaged or compromised canned item has an elevated risk of mold growth due to air exposure.
