Chain restaurants will often use frozen, pre-made meals sent to them from a distribution center, but when it comes to Olive Garden’s house salad, this is not the case.
As confirmed to Daily Meal via email, the brand makes its salads in-house. It is known to make most of its dishes fresh each day instead of relying on packaged food.
The online ordering platform allows you to customize or hold certain ingredients if you’re getting a salad for pick-up, which wouldn’t be allowed if the salads came pre-mixed.
It’s hard to fake fresh veggies when serving them raw since they start oxygenating when sliced open, so if your salad arrives looking fresh, it’s a good sign that it really is.
With the exception of the desserts that arrive at the restaurant frozen, everything on the menu is made in-house, including the soups and sauces, which are prepared fresh each day.
