Instead Of Parmesan Roasted Potatoes, Bring Out The Carrots
By Brandon Bombay
Parmesan roasted potatoes may be all the rage on TikTok, but TikToker Stella Drivas is garnering attention for her alternative parmesan roasted carrot recipe.
In the TikTok, she sliced the carrots into small pieces and combined olive oil, garlic, grated parm, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, and salt to taste.
In addition to the grated parm in the mixture, her recipe also calls for dipping the flat side of the carrots into even more freshly grated parm.
After cooking the parmesan-dipped carrots for 25 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit, you get carrots with an ultra-crispy parmesan crust.
In a different approach, TikToker Ayeh Manfreh of Cooking with Ayeh suggests grouping the carrots close together so there is no space between them.
She also coats the tray with extra parmesan before placing the carrots down, ensuring that every carrot's bottom is carefully coated in the crunchy parmesan mixture.
Time For Table's recipe suggests only using ½ cup of parmesan and limiting the cooking time to 20 minutes, which prevents the parmesan mixture at the bottom from burning.
Chef Leigh Anne Wilkes cooks the carrots for 20 minutes without any parmesan at 400 degrees, then adds 4 tablespoons of cheese before cooking for 10 more minutes.
