Ina Garten's Delicious Trick For Amplifying A Single Slice Of Cake

Food is one of the most important aspects of a good party, and celebrity chef Ina Garten takes it a step further in an Instagram video where she says, "Nobody remembers what you serve for dinner but they always remember dessert." Here's her tip on how to wow your guests come dessert time if you're serving cake.
All you need is a little bit of jam for Garten's beautiful cake presentation. In the aforementioned Instagram video, Garten spreads a couple spoonfuls of raspberry sauce in a circle on a plate, then lays a single slice of coconut cake on its side on top of the sauce before garnishing the whole thing with fresh raspberries.
The final result is elegant, but couldn't be easier to pull off, and you can experiment with different sauces and garnishes to match your cake and/or your party’s theme. Caramel or chocolate sauce would work great when spread on a plate, while fruits and herbs are just two suggestions for excellent garnishes.
