How To Cook Soft, Creamy Sweet Potatoes In The Microwave
By Branden C. Potter
Soft and creamy sweet potatoes are essential for recipes like casseroles and soups. Contrary to popular belief, you can make them taste amazing by cooking them in the microwave.
Be sure to thoroughly wash your sweet potato in water and dry it with a towel. Use a knife or fork to poke five or six holes in it for the steam to escape while it cooks.
Place your spud on a microwave-safe plate and cook it for about five minutes, flipping it halfway through cooking. Use a knife or fork to push against the skin to see if it's soft.
If it's still hard, microwave it for another 30 seconds, then test it again. When it’s done, you should have a hot, soft, creamy sweet potato that's ready to eat or use in recipes.
