How To Bake Trader Joe's Frozen Chocolate Croissants Even Faster
By Heather Newman
The downside to Trader Joe’s frozen chocolate croissants is the prep time. The pastries are supposed to rest for nine hours, but luckily there's a better shortcut to the process.
To proof the croissants faster than the recommended nine hours, you can place them about 4 inches apart on a baking sheet and let them rest in a 90-degree oven for just two hours.
The oven time should make the croissants about twice their previous size. Next, cook the croissants for 15 to 20 minutes in a 350 degree air fryer until they’re perfectly golden.
Proofing is important as it creates an evenly cooked, fluffy croissant. You can use this trick with other frozen pastries and snacks, as well as your own from-scratch baked goods.
