How Many Calories A New York-Style Slice Of Pizza Has
By Dan Myers and Crystal Antonace
You can't leave New York City without eating a slice of New York-style pizza, but if you're a calorie counter, you must wonder how these massive slices hold up to your standards.
Since the city that never sleeps is flooded with New York-style pizza joints, finding a one-size-fits-all calorie count for one piece of pizza is nearly impossible.
One slice of Brooklyn-born Grimaldi's pizza has 228 calories without toppings. Reddit users estimate that a Caprese pizza from Joe's Pizza can be between 300 and 500 calories.
Nutritionix estimates that one slice of New York-style pepperoni pizza has roughly 500 calories, 38% of which is labeled as calories from fat.
So, if you're worried about consuming too many calories from one New York slice, monitor the amount of extra toppings and slices you consume, or call it a cheat day.
