How Long Will Boiled Eggs Last In The Refrigerator?
By Julia Mullaney
For a simple breakfast protein, boiled eggs are easy to make and prepare to eat throughout the week. You can easily store a couple of boiled eggs in the fridge, which can be later made into egg salad or put onto a piece of toast, but it’s important to know how long these eggs will last.
Boiled eggs can last up to a week in the fridge after cooking, while uncooked eggs are fresh for up to five weeks. A raw egg’s shell protects the uncooked egg from bacteria with its protective coating, but the boiling process makes that coating thinner and less useful, which can allow bacteria to seep in more easily.
If you've cooked a lot of hard-boiled eggs and don't want to waste them, there are a few diverse recipes you can make with them. Deviled eggs are likely the most well-known use for hard-boiled eggs, and you can get creative with them by adding bacon, chives, or another flavor-bursting ingredient that will set them apart from other standard recipes.
