Here's What Happens When You Eat Blueberries Everyday
By Nick Johnson
There are certain nutritionally beneficial foods that deserve to be eaten every day, such as protein-rich eggs and heart-healthy avocados. You might not think much about blueberries in terms of a daily staple, but you might want to start incorporating them into your diet since these juicy little fruits have more benefits than you may think.
A single cup of blueberries can contain in excess of 10,000 antioxidants, which can defend our cells against damage and aging. One of the primary antioxidants found in blueberries is anthocyanin, which can help reduce disease-causing free radicals, protect against neurological diseases, and even aid in preventing cancer.
One cup of blueberries also contains 24% of your daily vitamin C, 36% of your vitamin K, 25% of your manganese, and 14% of your dietary fiber. Eating blueberries can improve blood pressure and may be beneficial for those with type 2 diabetes; just be sure not to go overboard with your berries to avoid any stomach issues.
