Pizza Ordering
Hack Everyone
Should Know
By Carly Weaver
The great American pastime of ordering pizza comes with all kinds of tips, tricks, and strong opinions attached to it. There’s the debate over what crust is best, pick-up versus delivery, or what’s the best topping combination, but of all the pizza advice out there, there's one tradition-breaking hack that is a must-try.
Pizzas are usually delivered sliced up in those familiar triangles, but in Italy, they come unsliced because it preserves their texture and flavor. Keeping the pizza unsliced as long as possible keeps the pizza hotter longer and keeps all the ingredients in place, with the original flavor and texture intact — gooey, cheesy toppings that don't jeopardize the texture of the dry, crispy crust.
There's also a bit of added fun to ordering your pizza uncut: once it arrives, you can choose how you want to eat it. For example, if you've got a lot of toppings, you can cut your pizza into squares for a more secure base, and square slices are also great if you have lots of mouths to feed.
