Give Your Cheese Board Some Love With Aldi's Super Affordable Cornichons
By Greta Pano
Aldi's Specially Selected Cornichons are a tasty and affordable option to add variety and elegance to your cheese board. They come in a Chili flavor and a best-selling Herb flavor.
Cornichons (also known as gherkins) are tiny, crunchy pickles with a mildly tart flavor. While "Cornichon" is French for "pickle," Aldi's mini pickles are inspired by Germany.
Aldi's cornichons cost only 16 cents per ounce, while Maille Cornichons sell for 57 cents per ounce at Meijer, and Mt. Olive Sweet Gherkins cost 25 cents per ounce from Walmart.
In the Facebook group TheALDINerd.com, a member posted a photo of the cornichons, saying, "Cornichons...these are delicious...just got home and ate probably 10 right from the jar!"
Members asked if they were too sweet or sour, to which the author replied, "They are not sweet but they're not a big pucker either." They seem well-suited for various tastebuds.
