For The Fluffiest Biscuits, All You Need Is A Spoonful Of Mayo
By Grace Allison
Baking biscuits is easy to master, but reaching that optimal fluffy texture can be challenging. However, say goodbye to dry biscuits with a spoonful of mayo.
Simply mix milk, mayonnaise, and self-rising flour until smooth and pour into muffin cases. Bake until golden brown for around 30 minutes for moist and delectable biscuits.
Mayonnaise takes the place of butter, and since mayonnaise can be slightly salty, avoid adding any additional salt.
You can substitute plain flour instead — just add baking powder and a pinch of salt. For a fluffier bake, whisk the milk and mayonnaise separately before mixing in the flour.
To avoid stodgy biscuits or dry boulders, pass a toothpick through the center of the biscuits and remove them from the oven once the pick is clean.
Leave the biscuits to cool slightly before slicing open and admiring the fluffy inside. The result is irresistible biscuits that are moist and delectable.
