Crescent Rolls Easily Transform Cheesesteak Into A Party Food
By Crystal Antonace
Preparing cheesesteaks for a crowd may seem daunting, but you can use refrigerated crescent roll dough to make party-friendly sandwiches in various shapes and sizes.
Depending on your number of guests, all you need is a few cans of refrigerated crescent dough and your prepped cheesesteak ingredients to make a crescent ring.
Unroll two cans of crescent dough, separate the triangles, and form them into a ring on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Layer and partially overlap them with the points facing out.
When adding the cooked steak or roast beef, sauteed peppers, onions, and cheese, place the filling on the wide edge of the dough ring and fold up the tips accordingly.
Follow the baking instructions on the back of the package, but keep an eye on the oven. You may need to adjust the cooking time depending on the size of your cheesesteak ring.
Another option is to unroll the dough into a large sheet, layer your cheesesteak fillings over the surface, then roll it up and slice the large roll into pinwheels for easy baking.
You can also use a muffin tin to bake uniform cheesesteaks with a square of dough in each cup or form two rolls together in a bundt pan and cut them into sandwich slices.
