Costco's Popular Kirkland Maple Syrup Is Unexpectedly Very High Quality
By Stacie Adams
Costco is choosy about the products in their private-label brand, especially the maple syrup, which many find to be a cut above the big, national brands.
Their Kirkland brand of maple syrup is a certified organic product, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). It is also categorized as grade-A maple syrup.
As explained by the USDA, grade A must contain no more than 68.9% solids content (i.e., sugar) according to weight. Any deficiencies mean it cannot bear the grade A designation.
The color of the syrup must be even throughout and must also be free of sediment and cloudiness. As for taste and smell, the product must be pleasing and palatable.
Costco's Kirkland 38.8-ounce maple syrup adheres to these and other standards, making it an amazing buy for people serious about the quality of their breakfast condiments.
