Costco's Kirkland Brand Jarred Peaches May Be A Better Buy Than Canned
By Elaina Friedman
It's hard to beat the taste of juicy peaches plucked from a crate at the farmers market, but during the off-season, head over to Costco instead of settling for canned peaches.
According to the constituents of a popular subreddit, Costco's Kirkland Signature jarred sliced peaches are an even better buy than the canned kind.
The Redditors unanimously upvoted Costco's jarred sliced peaches thanks to their pleasant flavor, lack of metallic aftertaste, slightly lower sugar content, and superior texture.
One user wrote, "They're not sickly sweet and the texture is really nice." Those with kids were also quick to comment about the peaches' popularity among famously picky children.
The jars also serve as built-in storage and are etched with measurements, which inspired one user to keep them around as measuring glasses.
The peaches pair well with cottage cheese, and because of their firm texture, they retain a bit of bite after baking, making them good for an old-fashioned peach cobbler.
