Costco's Crispy Fry Snacks Have Shoppers Complaining Of An Odd Flavor
By Arianna Endicott
Costco has begun selling Cadina Crispy Fries, a pre-packaged snack meant to mimic french fries, which are sold in packages of 10. Each bag contains around 60g of vegan, gluten-free potato sticks, with each packet being about 340 calories, but some people who have purchased them say that the flavor is off.
After Instagram user @costcobuys posted a video saying they were obsessed with it, commenters were quick to disagree, with one user calling the taste “really bad," and another writing, "Yes these are gross I was hoping they would taste like Trader joe ones that they discontinued." One person even criticized the reviewer, assuming that they didn’t taste the product before posting it.
According to the Costco website, the ingredients in each packet include potatoes, palm oil, and a few different seasonings. Each fry also contains cabbage extract powder and kelp extract powder — which could be part of the cause of the strange flavor, if people are expecting a purely salty potato flavor.
