Costco Is Your Best Bet When It Comes To Buying Butter
By Kuamel Stewart
Costco offers the most affordable generic salted butter. The Kirkland product sells for $0.19 per ounce, while other retail grocery stores sell it for $0.25 to $0.37 per ounce.
Although BJ's Wholesale Club offers it for $0.23 per ounce, and Sam's Club sells it for as low as $0.21 per ounce, Costco is still the cheapest option of all these major retailers.
Costco shoppers have shared their preferences in a Reddit thread titled "Which butter do yall buy at Costco?" and recommend brands based on different culinary applications.
User FeistyAgency9994 shared, "I still use Kirkland butter for any baking but if it's butter going on bread or muffins etc. it's the Kerrygold."
For topping off a steak, user casey703 recommends Costco’s "black truffle butter they carry during the holidays." For a healthier option, try Kirkland Signature's grass-fed butter.
