Caulislaw Is Where Cauliflower Salad And Coleslaw Meet
By Riya Anne Polcastro
For those who love cauliflower and coleslaw, you should get on the caulislaw bandwagon. It's a slaw with extra crunch and a distinct mouthfeel.
Cauliflower is milder than what you get with shredded cabbage or broccoli, and its slightly sweet nuttiness is what sets it apart from other types of slaw.
It has just enough sharp brassica pungency that's key to a good slaw and is easy to make, considering it's basically the same process as regular coleslaw.
To make caulislaw, chop the cauliflower florets into small pieces, shred or julienne the carrots, and cut up any additional veggies.
Make a dressing of mayo, vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper unless you prefer to add the individual dressing ingredients directly to the veggies before mixing.
Once all the components are ready, toss everything together to combine the ingredients evenly, then let the salad marinate in the refrigerator before serving.
