Can You Really Make Cookies In A Waffle Iron?
By Kelly Douglas
From brownies and cinnamon rolls to churros and soft pretzels, waffle irons can make plenty of baked goods you didn’t expect they could. You may have seen people on TikTok heating their store-bought sugar cookies in waffle irons a couple of years ago, but whether you can use the tool for making cookies is a different question.
As it turns out, you can make cookies in a waffle iron, and the best part is that waffle iron cookies are quick to make too. Waffle iron cookies take about 90 seconds to be fully cooked, unlike traditional cookies, which can take at least half an hour to bake in the oven.
If your waffle maker is a standard model, put one ball of cookie dough in each of the four quadrants of the iron, and if it's a smaller model, put one or two dough balls in it at a time. Whether you don't own an oven or just want to try a different cooking method to use on a time crunch, waffle iron cookies are sure to satisfy you.
