If you are one of the many that have fallen in love with an air fryer, you may be wondering if you can bake in the small appliance. Brownies aren't meant to be fried, yet Hamilton Beach reports that despite its name, their air fryer does have baking capabilities, and plenty of cake and pie air fryer recipes on the internet support that claim.

After following a recipe provided by Ninja air fryer, an Insider reporter discovered that you can make brownies using the popular kitchen appliance. However, she noted it took 90 minutes in total to mix the ingredients and bake it, whereas a typical brownie recipe might take less than an hour from start to finish.

When baking with an air fryer, putting too much batter in your pan causes your dessert to turn out half-done. The Insider reporter was only able to bake two brownies despite the extended baking time, so while you can make brownies in the air fryer, it isn’t necessarily easier.
