Cajun Butter Takes Your Steaks To New Heights Of Flavor
By Branden C. Potter
Known for its Cajun cuisine, Louisiana has gifted the world with Cajun butter. This sauce is made from unique spices and adds decadent flavor and umami when spread on beef.
While many types of rich butter sauces would make your steak taste incredible, the use of Cajun butter will transport you to the bayous of Louisiana with every bite.
Along with the usual blend of spices — paprika, garlic and onion powder, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, and cayenne — add brown sugar to the mix for flavor and caramelization.
Don't feel restricted to using your Cajun butter as a garnish for your steak. You can also use it to marinate the meat to impart more of its delicious Cajun flavor.
The butter caramelizes the outside as it grills, adding a crispy, dark brown crust. If you don't have any Cajun butter on hand, simply mix Cajun seasoning with softened butter.
