Are McDonald's Burgers Actually 100% Beef?
By Allie Ward
Despite the rumors regarding burger ingredients, McDonald's assures customers on its website that "every patty is 100% real beef with no fillers, additives, or preservatives."
The company uses leftovers from cuts such as chuck, round, and sirloin to craft its burger patties, grinding and shaping them into the perfect hamburger.
Mike Haracz, a former McDonald's corporate chef, confirmed in a TikTok that he's "been in the facilities where they make the meat patties [...] It's just beef. It is 100% beef."
The patties are frozen at the supplier sites before being transported to restaurants, with an estimated two to three weeks between freezing them and serving them.
While the Quarter Pounder patty is gas-flushed to boost its shelf life, refrigerated, and shipped to the restaurants in that refrigerated state, it's still "just beef."
