An Ice Cream Sandwich Cake Is An Amped-Up Variety Of The Classic Summer Treat
By Crystal Antonace
If vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two soft chocolate wafers is your usual go-to frozen confection, you might enjoy an ice cream sandwich cake this summer.
You'll need 24 ice cream sandwiches, whipped topping, hot fudge, caramel sauce, and chopped nuts. You can customize this dish by adding unique elements or using different flavors.
Layer a 9x13-inch glass dish with ice cream sandwiches, then add a layer of whipped topping followed by drizzles of warm hot fudge and caramel sauce. Repeat for a second layer.
Top it off with a big layer of whipped topping and a generous sprinkling of chopped nuts. Cover and freeze the ice cream sandwich cake for 30 minutes before eating.
For less sweetness, use only one sauce for each level. To add some texture, swap out a portion of the sauce for a layer of chopped candy bars, crushed cookies, or extra nuts.
