Tips

  • Work began in 1858 but was halted during the Civil War and resumed in 1865. It was completed in 1878 and dedicated on May 25, 1879. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
  • Stop by and enjoy their Gothic architecture!

  • My gam and grandpa met here in 1941. National Catholic Community Center hosted events for the Catholic youth to meet. Gam was playing checkers. Grandpa saw her and said "I'm gonna marry that girl."
  • Take a trip to this staid midtown chapel, where F. Scott Fitzgerald married his wife, Zelda. Unlike the over-the-top parties portrayed in The Great Gatsby, theirs was a small affair with only 8 guests
  • I always feel more peaceful after I leave.

  • On 2/25/12, I attended the mid-morning prayer here in celebration of Timothy Cardinal Dolan.

  • Catedral catlica con estilo neogtico ms grande de Amrica del Norte. Est dedicada al Patrn de Irlanda. Debido a su cntrica ubicacin en Manhattan, resulta muy curioso contemplar los contrastes.
  • Roman Catholic Church designed in the Gothic Revival style. Used to be 51 niches along the exterior that each contained a statue. Only 2 of these statues remain along 5th Ave. More history here <LINK>
  • Large manager inside for Christmas. Simple and elegant.
