Putnam-based restaurant Someplace Special becomes first in area to be awarded the prestigious FSM 22000 quality food award
Putnam, CT (RestaurantNews.com) When it comes to restaurants being recognized for food quality and safety, FSM 22000 is the gold standard ahead all other awards sought after by food establishments throughout the Northeast. Last month, Someplace Special achieved that distinguished recognition by becoming the first restaurant in Putnam, Connecticut and only the 7th in Windham County to achieve FSM 22000 quality food certification. The award and certificate was issued to Someplace Special owner Tony Pasiakos, and personally presented by FSM 22000 leadership Daryl Guberman and Donald LaBelle. Mr. Guberman is the President of G-PMC Registrars, LLC, an accredited registrar that certifies quality management systems of food establishments and other businesses nationwide. Mr. LaBelle is the Founder and President of FSM 22000, and author of, ‘Safe Dining in New York.’
According to Guberman, Someplace Special as well as dozens of nearby restaurants was reviewed by diners on multiple occasions discreetly representing FSM 22000, including establishments in Putnam, Thompson, Woodstock, Pomfret, Brooklyn as well as other neighboring towns. “Someplace Special scored the highest over other restaurants in all key areas, including food quality, cleanliness, value and customer service,” said Guberman.
