Solar-Powered Wineries
Last week, Google announced a $280 million dollar deal with SolarCity, a solar paneling company that will build and lease solar power systems to between 7,000 and 9,000 homeowners, according to Reuters. This is Google's largest investment yet and sends a major message about its trust in clean, renewable energy.
While this is major economic news, it isn't news to many wineries who were years ahead of the pack using solar panels as a way to reduce their carbon footprint. With wineries from California to New Zealand making use of solar paneling, similar to those made by SolarCity, it was about time Google jumped on the bandwagon!
