An egg sandwich with goat cheese, arugula, and tomatoes.

The Daily Meal's editors, contributors, and readers dig into some pretty great restaurants, festivals, and meals. There's not always enough time to give a full review of a restaurant or describe in depth why a place, its food, and the people who prepare it are noteworthy, so Snackshot of the Day does what photographs do best, rely on the image to do most of the talking.

Today's Snackshot is of a homemade egg sandwich. A poppy seed bagel is topped with goat cheese, baby arugula, tomatoes, an egg, salt, and pepper. While this egg sandwich is a fancier version of the egg and cheese you may get at a deli, it's just as delicious, and easy to make at home. The people at Food Thinkers even tell you how to take a great photo of your sandwich along with the recipe.
