Tips

  • Ask for Hilary when you're at the bar. If she's not there, ask the manager to phone her at home and come in. She's the best bartender there.
  • Brunch outside! Get the pot of french press coffee. Cocktails are strong - bloody Maria!
  • The burger is awesome!
  • Their weekend brunch is SO GREAT, plus awesome service. The new chorizo dish is amazing.
  • The Bacon Cheeseburger here is the real deal! Smoked cheddar, Tillamook cheddar, barbeque sauce, pickles, fried onions, & sesame brioche.
  • The Baked Mac & Cheese with a Parmesan cheese crust is a must have side item! Crunchy, cheesy and delicious!
  • They no longer have biscuits and gravy, worst 86 in history
  • This handsomely preppy watering hole occupies the historic Engine Co. No. 6, offering a good selection of beers, some inventive cocktails and a large sidewalk patio.
  • Located two blocks from The Verizon Center, Sixth Engine combines modern interpretations of classic American fare, nestled in the historic ambiance of DC's oldest firehouse.
  • Go for the cocktails, have food if you're hungry. Really nice bartenders
  • Mac and cheese is a must and absolutely finish with the fritters- best dessert in dc!
  • Drinks rock. Fries are good but gnocchi sucks.
  • Fantastic! Soon the outside will be open and watch out. It will be off the charts.
  • Bartenders were great, but the bar area is small. Very crowded Friday after work.
  • Best whole wheat chocolate chip pancakes in the city!! Bottomless mimosas too!!
  • Go to neighborhood place for awesome cocktails and burgers. Sit outside if the weather is nice.
  • Breakfast frittata
  • Fantastic brunch service. Our server was on top of everything. It has an awkward ambiance but the service was well worth many more visits from me.
  • The apple fritters are insane
  • Perfect place for after the 4th of July.
