Foursquare Tips

  • Get the soup dumplings
  • Dry fry chicken wings are loaded with a thick garlic pepper sauce and still stay crunchy. Must order.
  • Ask for the Chinese menu to get the real authentic stuff. Decor sucks but food is spectacular (4 of 4 petals via Fondu)
  • Xiao Long Bao and Kung Pao are the best I've had in SF. Everything tastes like it came straight from Shanghai. For a person who used to live in Shanghai for 7 years, this is my favorite place.
  • Best hidden tea pot dumpling in town if you're lucky enough to find one in there!
  • Try the dry fried prawns (sweet/spicy heaven) and the stringbeans- soooo delish.
  • 13. Soup dumplings at Shanghai House (from 7x7's 100 Things to Try Before You Die |
  • Charles Phan, chef of The Slanted Door, eats here on his nights off. He loves the Pickled vegetable & shredded pork soup.
  • Check your teapot, sometimes they sneak an extra dumpling in there
  • Great xiao long bao!
  • very good, but usually crowded.
  • The delicious xiao long bao and Shanghainese specialities more than make up for the very grumpy owner.
  • Listen to what everyone (and I) is saying, and GET THE SOUP DUMPLINGS. Potstickers are bomb too :).
  • frying of the soup dumplings is a thing.
  • Famous for dry fried chicken wings
  • The dumplings and garlic wings are amazing.
  • Dumplings were great, as were the chicken wings and the hot & sour soup. When the menu says spicy, it is! Don't go for the great decor or fancy service, go for great affordable food.
  • The best xiao long bao in SF. Also the chicken wings are great, the hand cut pan fried noodles have an amazing chewy texture, and the salt and pepper pork knuckle is both tender and crispy.
  • great food is worth the sometimes unfriendly/uninterested customer service
  • Soup dumplings are great.
