While you were holiday shopping, here’s some of what was happening in the burger business:

Shake Shack doesn’t do pizza … yet. But it comes close this week in a collaboration between its Coral Gables and Miami locations and Harry’s Pizzeria in Miami, an LTO partnership that coincides with Miami Art Week.

For its part of the deal, Harry’s Pizzeria is featuring a $17 Shack-ago Pizza. It has the elements of Shake Shack’s Shack-cago Dog: a fire-roasted Vienna beef hot dog, mustard Mornay cheese sauce, sport peppers, pickles, tomatoes, onions and fontina cheese.

“We’ve never collaborated with a restaurant in this way, and we’re so psyched to be doing it with Harry’s Pizzeria,” said Mark Rosati, Shake Shack Culinary Director. “Chef Michael [Schwartz, Chef and Owner of The Genuine Hospitality Group and Harry’s Pizzeria] and I both share an appreciation for the artistic and whimsical elements of food, so it’s only appropriate to debut this menu swap during the biggest week for art – and the busiest of the year – in Miami.”

Meanwhile, Shake Shack’s three Moscow locations are offering a special Hot Pepper Shaq burger, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting a food-assistance charity.

Starbucks holiday isn’t a burger; it doesn’t even have turkey. But it has the right idea. The coffee shop chain’s new All the Trimmings Breakfast Sandwich has maple ham is piled atop an apple-sausage patty with apple-sage stuffing and maple glaze, all on a buttery bun.

Tennessee-based Back Yard Burgers honors a neighbor with its new Kentucky Bourbon Burger. That’s a flame-gilled burger topped with bleu cheese crumbles, smoky pepper bacon, onion straws and sweet-tangy Kentucky Bourbon Glaze.

Farther south, Kennesaw, Ga.-based Cheeseburger Bobby’s has introduced Bobby’s Carolina Burger, with smokey bacon, Cheddar cheese, tangy coleslaw and Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce.

Hungry Jack’s (Burger King’s Australia operation) is thinking barbecue, too. Its new entrée/side is Overloaded Smokey BBQ Beef Chips (BBQ pulled beef with BBQ sauce over fries).
