Tips
- Go to Samovar Tea Lounge - Castro and sit at the raised table have honeycomb and cheese with bottomless Russian tea and chill
- At Samovar, the art of tea is the art of relaxation, and we recommend going with full-blown tea service. The Russian tea service brings you deviled eggs with caviar and other snacks.
- Get the Nishi Sencha 1st Flush. OMG.
- They don't like you to use laptops on weekends, but during the week it is a great place to get some work done (as you try to kick that coffee addiction).
- The Japanese tea service with smoked duck (not explicitly on the menu) is healthy, filling and yummy! If you're chilling further, chai tea is a great relaxing dessert tea.
- Chilled chai.
- I use their teas obssesively in my desserts. Also sit and enjoy a pot of tea, relax, you'll feel your karma get lighter. -Yigit Pura, Top Chef Just Desserts
- The vegetarian/haloumi kabobs are delicious. Get with the Moroccan tea set, or on their own.
- If you want something a bit heftier than just tea, the English Tea Service is super delish.
- Great masala chai!
- Quinoa Waffle.
- The tofu curry dish is excellent and the masala chai is outstanding! A little pricey, but you get great service and delicious food for the price.
- My favorite chai in the city.
- Book early, it's always crowded
- Get the egg bowl and a side of kale, mix together, and enjoy. A good combo!
- this is how chai is supposed to be. smooth, cardamony, and warming. not overspiced or sickeningly sweet.
- Got food poisoning from the salmon maki bowl yesterday :( anyone else?
- try the salmon jook! and Moorish mint tea is awesome :)
- Squash Dumplings. Yeah.
- Get the Chai to warm up!
