Foursquare Tips

  • Made famous in Armistead Maupin's book Tales of the City. "Listen, silly, Social Safeway happens to be the hottest thing in town right now..." http://bit.ly/Rn0MUv
  • People with strollers will run you down.
  • Open 24 hours which is good and friendly night staff. Good to avoid from 3PM, I've left out of frustration at the lines. If you go too late, they're often cleaned out of the few staples, I want.
  • Use the self-checkout line to scan coupons multiple times. When asked to deposit the coupon, just slip a piece of paper into the coupon slot and repeat. Sneaky discount!
  • Don't go here unless it's after 11pm
  • Voted best pickup spot in the city, beware!
  • This Safeway is known as the Dateway, so be sure to dress up.
  • need to take a leak in the area? bathroom. stage left.
  • This place is a MADHOUSE, small aisles, slow checkers and absent baggers.
  • Register your club card to get free stuff and PERSONALIZED coupons (use referral code 822701D): http://shopgroceries.safeway.com/a/tBMwl8eBxs2sTB8VRkZA0pgd8.Bxs2sTYJ/j4u-1
  • They have Vegenaise near the produce aisle.
  • Daniel G.grow up! This is the cleanest Safeway in San Francisco I believe.
  • Not a bad grocery store. Produce section is a but limited which is disappointing. Really nice view of the bay when you check out though
  • Stuff and things.
  • Open late. Pretty standard grocery store. Has aisles and bathrooms and cashiers and stuff.
  • Quick stop shopping
  • Clean, polite and a big parking lot. Great wine and beer selection.
  • watch out for drug addicts and sketchy homeless people in the parking lot
  • Rudest customers anywhere I've ever been.
  • Close to the beaches. French and Italian cheese and ham are at deli kiosk on the far right side.
