Foursquare Tips

  • Sadly not a patch on the old Museum of Transport. :( Totally lacking in atmosphere with no sensible layout to the exhibits.
  • Looking amazing, had a preview on Saturday. Love the street and the skateboards.
  • Very disapointing compared to the old museum.
  • Designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, the museum houses a varied collection, including three recreated Glasgow streets from various points in history, a display of maritime heritage, etc.
  • I love the architecture of the building. All the exhibits are well presented. And it's Free admission. I liked the old transport museum it had a better atmosphere. My opinion anyway.
  • Very disapointing compared to the old museum.
  • Great place! Love the streets with authentic shops and the motorbikes and cars! Also had the spicy tuna Mayo baguette in the cafe - well recommended!
  • Really excellent museum, well worth a visit and plenty to interest almost any visitor.
  • Very busy, the car park is full most of the time. For free parking 5 minutes walk from the museum go to Meadowside St. or near it. Schools are still out so I'd advise a trip in the autumn.
  • This is an amazing place! Great place for inspiration and people watching!
  • If you want to look at old cars, don't come here, they are piled so high on the wall you can't see them, what a poor design.
  • Fridays it's open at 11am
  • Not impressed, much of the old exhibits have vanished (eg royal coach) and very little space between the exhibits. Tall ship is extortionate also. And no rubbish bins outside at all. Disappointing.
  • For free, it's excellent. It's really informative if you're looking to learn about the history of Glasgow. Although I preferred the old museum, it's still really good and worth a visit.
  • Kids in general love it.
  • Really interesting museum with loads to see and do, all housed in a great building too! Won European museum of the year in 2013.
  • Great free museum with lots of interesting and fascinating exhibitions of glasgows past and transport history
  • For adults and kids.. something different
  • If you love history and transport, this is a great place to visit. For free too.
  • Great for a family day out. Free entry as in all good museums in Glasgow. Don't forget to visit the Tall Ship.
