Foursquare Tips

  • Come here for mostly local and organic cuisine and a killer ambiance. As recommended by Travel Channel host, Anthony Bourdain.
  • My favorite neighborhood spot. A River Thyme and Clams Casino, and I'm a happy girl!
  • A seasonal menu packs 'em in nightly, especially during happy hour when working stiffs, foodies and hipsters flock here to indulge in the freshest oysters south of the Puget Sound. [Eater 38 Member]
  • Ask for Ricotto sauce to go with the best oysters in MIA!
  • The ambiance is fantastic, the food is excellent, but as a server myself I can say that the server was not welcoming or attentive.
  • Try their Dark and Stormy: Ginger Beer & Gosling's Rum. This drink is popular in Barbados and the Bahamas, according to my intel.
  • Local foodies love this upscale tavern not only for the oysters but also for the beef, lamb, and seafood dishes. Fine wines and specialty beers are also a major draw.
  • Best bartender here Amanda. Awesome food and drinks
  • One of my favorite happy hours. Hands down. The mushroom flat bread is a must!
  • Great bar scene
  • While the unlimited mimosa deal at brunch is tempting, the What's Up Doc (ginger, carrot juice, orange juice, and gin) is where it's at. Plus, you'll only need two to get the job done.
  • Miami's hidden gem for amazing local and organic cuisine; the Blue Tip oysters from the LI Sound simply cannot be beat!
  • Coconut lemongrass mussels. Yum!!!
  • My hubby & I totally enjoyed this lunch! Stone crabs pricey...but they always are!
  • Great happy hour. Oysters are half-price. If you like oysters, order the coromandel oysters and you will not go wrong. Also the Sicilian sliders are a meal.
  • 1/2 price oysters and drinks during happy hour!!!
  • The bar here is great!
  • Oysters: Moon shoal - large and juicy; Little skookum - very small but very tasty; Hama Hama - the best.
  • Love the Oysters and the Shiitake Flatbread is a must... Yummy!
  • The River opened downtown in 2003, but because of the wear-and-tear of constant business, it looks as though it's always been there.
