  • This classy, minimalist Japanese focuses on the finer aspects of Japanese cuisine. Their silky, home-made tofu and sea urchin infused egg custard "chawanmushi" are popular favorites.
  • This lovely Mission izakaya is a must for its pristine chawanmushi, homemade tofu, chicken karaage, and other delights. The superb food is worth the extra cost. [Eater 38 Member]
  • Pricey but tasty. Get the Kobe beef for sure.
  • Not your run-of-the-mill hispter izakaya. AUTHENTIC! Get the Beef Tendon, Chawan Mushi w/ Uni, Braised Pork Belly and Kurobuta Pork w/ Miso!
  • Amazing!!!
  • Get the seasonal rice, tofu, chawan-mushi, and grilled mackerel.
  • The mackerel I had was tender and delicious, so I recommend that dish.
  • Highly recommended! Authentic Japanese fine dining. They make their own Yuba. This place is a trend setter.
  • Small tapas size portions, good quality, prepare to spend some $$$ good service
  • It took 5 tapas-style dishes to fill me up. That plus sake made it pretty expensive. But everything was tasty.
  • Yakitori has the char, but has no flavor or that savoriness you get from great yakitori. The deep fried dishes were mostly soggy/limp and greasy. Pricy considering the food and other izakaya options.
  • Sake, skewers, fried chicken
  • Literally every dish we had was spectacular. Each was prepared with incredible attention to detail and quite authentic.
  • Black cod is
  • Black cod is the only thing I liked. But it was super delicious and juicy
  • Chawanmushi is great
  • It is a very different Japanese experience..Can't tell, you have to experience it
  • Sunomono: dungeness crab and fresh Naruto wakame seaweed salad with tosa vinaigrette
  • Monk fish liver
  • Delicious homemade tofu
